Hybrid Middle School for students with learning differences

We offer a blend of in-person math and English with a full support program for online science and history. This is a true model of what kids will see in college! WE ACCEPT FAMILY EMPOWERMENT SCHOLARSHIP Math: Our math curriculum utilizes Carnegie math and is a blend of direct instruction, small group discovery, and skills practice. Students scaffold off what they know in real world application and then fill in the math piece. "When will we use this???" -Carnegie Math answers that with clear, engaging examples! English: The program incorporates a novel per quarter where we read aloud and talk about what strong readers think as they read. This discussion based approach allows students to make connections, predictions, and explore themes. Students learn while they learn to love reading! Grammar, spelling, and vocabulary are done with workbooks as well as organically. Writing is modeled as a process and several genres are explored. Success is achieved through direct instruction, teacher feedback, peer editing, and self editing. Science & History: These are done on FLVS. Our tutors are on hand to help as needed while students build independence. Cost: $790/month
